The Marovo Lagoon is located in the Western Province of the Solomon Islands. It stretches for over 100 kilometres and is the longest saltwater lagoon in the world. It runs along the north coast of New Georgia along through Vangana and down to Gatokae Island in the south, protected by hundreds of islands from the open sea.
